From day one, our family conceived of a community that tirelessly catered to every aspect of Alzheimer’s care. We started with a revolutionary design of our facility; one quite literally built from the ground up for those with dementia. Then we added in the best caregivers around and equipped them with extensive training as it relates to assisted living and Alzheimer’s care. Top it all off with a family-operated management team and you have an unparalleled community for those with Alzheimer’s Disease.

 

We know that depression can be the single largest cause of a reduced quality of life for those with Alzheimer’s Disease. Therefore, every detail of Georgetown Living is intended to reduce the mental stress caused by the disease. Whether they come from private homes or other facilities, it is our goal to ensure they not only improve but also thrive with us. This includes proper medication management, well-balanced expertly prepared meals (including our desserts!), and constant social interaction. Georgetown Texas Alzheimer’s Assisted Living Facility

All of our resident rooms at Georgetown Living provide a beautiful view of one of our carefully landscaped gardens. This provides a therapeutic environment for our residents to gaze upon while situated comfortably in their rooms. Positive social interaction is the most effective way to counter depression, therefore all of our communal areas are situated immediately outside the residents’ rooms. Our salon, living room, sitting areas, activity room, outdoor gardens, and enclosed porch provide ample opportunity for social interaction among our residents and caring staff.

 

Assisted Living Resident Blogs

We understand the importance of the connection between our residents and their loved ones. This is why we have developed personalized blogs for our residents that are maintained by our staff, to help foster easier communication and sharing between our residents and their loved ones. These blogs include updates on activities that our resident has participated in, as well as photographs and videos where appropriate. In addition, we can coordinate regular video chats between our residents and their far-away family members.

Dedicated Snoezelen Room

Our facility has a dedicated Snoezelen room to assist with dementia care.  A Snoezelen room is a controlled multisensory environment that provides varying levels of sensory stimulation.  The basic philosophy is that by introducing elements that are appealing to the senses, it can calm and interest an individual.  Our Snoezelen room provides many different types of light shows, aroma therapy, an indoor waterfall, custom-made tactile swaths, comfortable furniture and other elements that make it a fantastic setting for dementia living.

 

Designated Sitting Areas

Sitting areas help to promote social interaction, while providing a comfortable, and cozy area for respite.

 

Sheltered porch

A sheltered porch for enjoying the great outdoors comfortably and safely. An outdoor dining table, allows for the opportunity of casual and relaxing meals amongst the peaceful Texas countryside.

 

Exterior Garden Area

The garden areas provide a fantastic activity for our residents: they can maintain and tend to their own set of plants and vegetables. Our chefs will even include the vegetables grown on premises in our daily menu plans. The gardens also provide a relaxing and therapeutic area for controlled and directed strolls.
