How We Use Technology

Technology is an increasingly important aspect of both our family members’ and residents’ lives. We primarily use technology to renew relationships between loved ones and residents, but have increasingly begun integrating them into our activity program. Below are just a few of the ways we attempt to use technology to enrich our residents’ lives. Letter from Co-Founder

The Story of Georgetown Living Several years ago my grandmother (known to me as PoPo) was diagnosed with dementia. My family visited facilities throughout Texas but found nothing that met all of our standards. We wanted more than just a nice building with nice people. We wanted a place that would actively enrich this new phase in my grandmother’s life. This experience had a profound effect on my mother. She wanted to create a facility that would cater to all aspects of Alzheimer’s care: a home that was both beautifully built and thoughtfully run.

Our Design Philosophy

Our design philosophy begins with our unique floor plan. Our rooms are NOT situated along hallways with common areas separated. For assisted living particularly, this configuration makes it hard for staff members to monitor the residents if their rooms are housed along a series of long corridors. In our community, a staff member can monitor all residents in all common areas of our facility from virtually any point on our “floor”.
